About us

Mike Kelly and Matt Devere met at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) where they trained for three years in the mid 1990s and have been the best of friends ever since.

They formed Madhouse with Jon Fenner at the Merlin Theatre in 2000 and have since delighted audiences in Budapest and all over Europe with a broad range of shows. Their version of 'The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged)', for example, still plays to full houses at the National Theatre of Hungary and is now in it's tenth season!! Fenner has been enjoying life back in the U.K. for a few years now, both professionally and with his young family,  but the guys have stayed very much in touch and do their best to meet when they can.

Devere and Kelly are also constantly adding to their list of film and TV credits,  recently playing in Hellboy II directed by Oscar nominee Guillermo Del Torres, Season of the Witch with Nicholas Cage, Pillars Of the Earth and World Without End, the monumental screen adaptations of Ken Follett's novels, and BBC1's acclaimed drama series Silent Witness.
